Becoming a lifestyle blogger was probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. While I will say I love sharing my funny stories with you all, my most favorite part has been getting a chance to feature upcoming talent, boutiques, and events. I have to admit I was beyond thrilled when Julie Branden, the coordinator for Fashion Week Lake Charles or FWLC, asked me to be the lead blogger for this grand event. FWLC will showcase emerging designers, all while bringing awareness and benefiting an important cause. Follow me as I will be covering all FWLC news from the first casting call to the finale party. Be sure to read the official press release for this amazing event below:
LAKE CHARLES, LA -DATE: Fashion Week Lake Charles (FWLC), The first ever event of its kind to hit Southwest Louisiana, will soon showcase style, while bringing awareness to an important cause. Taking place April 13-17, 2016, Events Center located at the Isle of Capri Casino. FWLC will bring together emerging designers, models and style vendors, while helping combat the fight against Juvenile Diabetes.
Spearheaded by certified image consultant Julie Branden, founder of Vivid Image Consulting, Fashion Week Lake Charles, will highlight the areas fashion elite and provide a platform for fashion industry professionals and trendsetters in the region.
JDRF plus Fashion Equals Beautiful Chaos!
Fashion Week Lake Charles will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF), which is the leading global organization funding research for Type 1 diabetes (T1D). T1D is an autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults suddenly and has no bearing on diet or lifestyle. There is no cure. FWLC and JDRF would like a world without Type 1 Diabetes and this event will further the goal to turn ‘TYPE ONE INTO TYPE NONE’.
Regional fashion weeks have formed in Charleston, Austin and New Orleans; positively impacting their local economies, all while setting new standards in their fashion communities. Similar results are expected in the Great Lake City.
FWLC is calling on area designers, models, vendors, production specialists and volunteers interested in taking part of the area’s inaugural event; which includes designer competition runway shows, an award ceremony, VIP parties and plenty of red carpet moments!
Those interested in taking part can contact Julie Branden at 337-912-7463 or for list of FWLC scheduled events, visit www.fashionweeklc.com.
I’m looking forward to bringing you all of the behind the scenes FWLC coverage! Be sure to also like the FWLC facebook page to also stay updated on related news.
