Being from New Orleans going to festivals is second nature for me. I usually spend half of my winter waiting for festival season to arrive. The food, the people, the artsy vibe I guess you can say festivals equal my happy place. I must say my favorite part of festivals is seeing everyone wearing their bohemian best, and the amount of creativity some people put into their ensembles.
What’s your favorite part about festival time?

Yes, you read that correctly! In my next few style fyle’s post I’m going to show you how to wear 1 jumpsuit 3 different ways. When it comes to building the perfect closet it is important to have key pieces that can be worn multiple ways. I recently rediscovered the store Love Culture, and I must admit I went a little crazy in there. During my impulse shopping I found this simple strapless black jumpsuit, and I just had to have it! I’m a huge fan of jumpsuits, and my closet is full of them, so I welcomed her with open arms. What pieces are you fan of? Are you a jumpsuit lover like myself?
Ever since I’ve been a child people have always complimented me on my skin. In fact, I would consider my skin to be one of my best physical features. I can remember when I was a little girl all of the ladies in my family would have vanity tables full of beauty products. My grandmother would always allow me to wear her beauty creams and lotions. I would feel so lavish and luxurious after I put them on. Even now as an adult I use about ten skincare products daily. Excessive? Maybe, but one thing is certain I’ll always be f l a w l e s s from head to toe. *flips hair*
For the normal person the key to having fabulous skin is simple. All you need is a daily facial cleanser, moisturizer, and weekly exfoliating and hydrating mask. First, you have to determine what type of skin you have. Most people fall into three categories: Dry, Oily, and Combination. If you have dry skin you will find that your skin is always flaky and rough. If you have oily skin you’ll find that your skin is constantly greasy and very prone to breakouts. If you have combination skin your skin will be rough in some areas and greasy in others. After you determine what type of skin you have, the next step will be finding a line that meets your skincare needs. I recommend Mary Kay Cosmetics, and not only because I sell them, but because I actually use and love the products. Mary Kay offers about 6 collections that focus on concerns from age-fighting to sensitive skin to stopping blemishes and acne for good. You’ll see amazing results in about 7 days. I’m a huge fan of the TimeWise Miracle Set and Botanical Effects collection. I also love that Mary Kay products are budget friendly too!
Having good skin is VERY essential to having a gorgeously “beat” face as well. Here me out ladies. Yes it’s super easy to buy makeup to cover your skin conditions, but why just cover the problem when you can just fix it in the first place? As my mother would say “beautiful skin equals gorgeous makeup!”
Anywho people be nice to your skin, take care of it, I promise you and your skin will thank me later!

Well people I can honestly say Deveney Marshall is evolving. Last night my friends and I went bar hoping. Ahhh the joys of being young! Anywho, long story short after being at Barcadia for about 10 minutes, I fell completely on my behind. And no I was not drunk, I had only been sipping on my Woodchuck for maybe 2 minutes when I came crashing down. My first thought? Oh shxt I’m really on the floor! My second thought where’s my phone? My purse? And did my beer bottle break? I WAS COMPLETELY MORTIFIED. I was on the ground in front of at least 75 people. But then I had a thought. If Carrie Bradshaw could survive falling on the runway and becoming “fashion road kill,” then I could survive this too. So I just laughed and shrugged if off as if it was nothing. After some cute guys graciously helped me up, I didn’t dash off, I stayed, finished my beer and laughed and talked it up with my girl Ari.
As I sat there I realized how much I’ve grown as a person. A few years ago if the same thing would have happened I probably would have cried and wanted to leave immediately. I was so freaking proud of myself for handling the situation like a champ, I couldn’t stop smiling! I always tell people how I don’t take myself too seriously, and last night proved that it’s true. I really am this carefree, confident girl who really doesn’t care what people have to say. I am loving the Dev I am right now! My embarrassing moment turned into such a wonderful teaching moment for me. Moral of this story you ask? When the cosmic demons literally try to knock the wind out of you, give them a hair flip and blow them a kiss, because nothing in this world is going to take you off of you cosmic high!
